What is Bulimia?
“Bulimia nervosa” is an eating disorder characterized by episodes of binge eating, followed by compensatory behaviors such as purging, fasting and/or excessive exercise. These dangerous attempts to lose or maintain weight can have a devastating impact on physical and mental health.
Those trapped in vicious “binge and purge” cycles often suffer from a distorted sense of self and have issues coping with their emotions. However, with treatment, it is possible to regain control over damaging thoughts and behaviors and find the way back to health.
