Welcome to Heroes' Mile Veteran Recovery Center

For Veterans By Veterans

Heroes’ Mile is an addiction recovery center for veterans suffering from substance use disorder. Each level of care is trauma-informed to support veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and military sexual trauma (MST), in addition to other psychological and mental health challenges related to their military service.

The mission of our veteran-focused drug and alcohol addiction treatment center is to guide individuals from self-defeating thinking and behaviors to a higher level of social, emotional, and moral awareness. The end result of this process is veterans who have overcome their substance use disorders and military traumas.

Addiction Treatment Levels of Care

From inpatient rehabilitation to intensive outpatient care, we provide different levels of care for different levels of need. We understand that addiction is complex and provide treatment options to meet you where you are. Here are the four types of programs we offer:

  • INPATIENT DETOXIFICATION — In our detox program, we provide personalized, compassionate care while the body recovers from the use of drugs or alcohol. This is all done under medical supervision to ensure safety as well as success for our patients.
  • RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT — In our residential rehab program, veterans participate in a wide range of programs and activities aimed at preparing them for life outside of our facility.
  • PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAM — In the partial hospitalization program, military veterans come to our facility for up to five hours a day, returning home in the evening. This offers a structured level of support that doesn’t compromise a person’s independence.
  • INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM — This non-residential program involves one or two hours of care per day. Participants can maintain work and home life while attending morning or evening sessions.

Benefits of Our Facility

Heroes’ Mile offers a new facility that opened in 2019 on 10 acres of secluded land. Veterans who come to us enjoy privacy, professionalism and a full range of inpatient and outpatient programs designed to address military mental health and addiction concerns. Our services include daily group therapy, individual therapy, recreational therapy, family/marriage counseling, nutrition education and more.  We have a full staff of medical, therapy, and nursing personnel, and we are operated and staffed by veterans who understand the military experience.

Veterans Serving Veterans

Our military rehab center chooses to serve veterans because we have a long history of working with those suffering from addiction and the impacts of PTS and MST experienced while serving in the military. • I’ve been to 7 other tx centers in my recovery so far. This has been the best experience yet comparable to a lockdown facility in Tampa. Very polite and professional nursing, recovery assistant, counseling, admissions and culinary staff. Great food, most staff is either veteran or has an immediate family member that is a vet. Also most are in recovery themselves. Both of these being critical for the veterans in recovery helping vets in recovery methodology used. As a Navy FMF Corpsman I appreciated this approach to medical care. I felt cared for as a human being. I relearned and reemphasized all of my previous 12 step knowledge. I regained contact with my sponsor. Overall I feel this time is different than my previous attempts. I feel better about looking my peers in the eye and I’m very looking forward to applying this renewed skill and passion to my reclaimed life. I wish you all the best and stop trying & neither will I.
